From London & Kuala Lumpur to Currambine WA, Internationally experienced Orthodontist Dr Kim Pang, has previously owned and operated successful private practices in London, Kuala Lumpur, Whitfords , WA and now in Currambine, WA.

Dr Pang wished to expand his Whitfords practice to ensure that he was catering for the growing population in the Northern suburbs of Perth. Medifit’s Managing Director, Sam Koranis had been dealing with Kim and Lian since 2010 when they were looking for advice and solutions from a local and trusted design and fit-out company in Western Australia. During this journey, Kim approached Sam again in 2013 with a property that was of interest to them in Currambine.

“Kim and Lian had a clear idea of what they wanted for their practice, our team was able to advise them on the suitability of the property. We came up with a detailed feasibility study and site assessment addressing the brief within the site parameters. The final result was a practical, functional and aesthetically pleasing design.” Mr Koranis said.

“The design was well thought out and aesthetically pleasing. Medifit fully met our brief and the use of colours was spot on. Medifit enhanced the practice design with their unique skill set and experience and added considerable value to the final result”. Dr Kim Pang said.

After a couple of meetings and discussions with Sam, Kim and Lian to move forward with the project and briefed the Medifit design team to create a modern environment that had elements of fun. It was to be fresh, light, with bright colour accents to appeal to a wide range of patients the majority being teenagers. For this reason, a neutral palette, dark timber with a pop of orange was incorporated; Medifit’s Interior Designer Manager, Mrs Lynda Mills said.

“The use of divisional screens in the main treatment area was very clever! When our eldest son said the 3D’s looked really cool we knew we were on the right track”. Said Ms Pang.

The treatment area has a lighter neutral sheet vinyl to create a more clinical feel and give the appearance of space in a shared area; Staff amenities are supplied with a functional kitchen. The staff area is located toward the rear of the practice allowing them to feel as though they are away from the daily working areas of the practice which in turn offers them some privacy.

““We are very pleased with the outcome. There was always a project manager on site at all times to help us with our queries, this approach is unique to Medifit which ultimately leads to great outcomes.” Dr Kim Pang said.

The corporate logo uses both white and orange. We decided to introduce orange accents to the loose furniture by powder coating the frames, orange vinyl to the windows, and orange acrylic screens to construct the divisional feature in the treatment area. Upon entry the clients focus is immediately drawn to the feature timber panel wall behind reception with the bright smiling logo mounted at eye level.

“We have had lots of lovely comments about how pleasing the practice is to look at and to receive treatment in such great surroundings. We wish to thank Medifit for their collective creativity and hard work ethic with the Currambine project.
It went really well, Medifit were on time and on budget and we appreciated all their help. We would highly recommend Medifit as the entire project journey was smooth and efficient, the quality was second to none. Their extensive design process fully met our brief and exceeded our expectations. They thought of things that we did not think of which led to a final outcome that was flawless .” added Ms Pang.

Sam Koranis said “Kim and Lian were a pleasure to deal with throughout the entire design and fit-out stage. Their clear vision for the practice was well communicated which allowed us to create a practice that will ensure future growth will be possible without future expansion being required. Kim and Lian also stated that if they undertake further expansion in the future they would definitely utilise Medifit’s services again. This is the best accolade that we can receive, thank you Kim and Lian!”
